Quick search and filtering
Quick search
Quick search is available on every search view. It allows you to type in search criteria to a single field to search from basic information. Quick search is supported with a minimum of three letters, and provides you with a quick way to search for specific content.
On most of the search views (Customers, Contacts, Portfolios and Securities), the quick search works as "contains", finding matches if your quick search criterion appears even partly within the searched-through information.
On Transactions and Trade orders views, the quick search works as "exact", finding matches if your quick search criterion appears exactly within the searched-through information. If you want to search with a partial quick search criterion, searching matches from the beginning, middle or end of the searched-through information, you can use either * or % sign to define your quick search. For example, you can use searches of Nokia (exact), Nokia* (starts with), *Nokia* (contains) or *Nokia (ends with), respectively.
You can calculate total sums for selected numerical columns of transactions or trade orders by checking Calculate totals. Totals can be calculated for most numerical columns available. However, calculating the totals can cause the search to take significantly longer.
Filtering the search results
Filtering the search results is available on every search view. Filtering allows you to filter your search result with the contents of any of the columns chosen to be visible on the view. Clicking the Show all button on a search view and then filtering the search result with appropriate columns allows you to search with any information available in FA.
