Split

The split corporate action can be used as a tool for recording splits and bonus issues.

Note

When running a split corporate action to your portfolio, the created transaction will have no other information as the security, transaction type, date and ratio (i.e. 0 in amount, unit price, trade amount, etc.) - this information alone will be enough to take the split into account in the reports.

The split corporate action can be recorded to the system through the Corporate action window with the following information (a star indicates a mandatory field):

Security*

The security that splits.

Split date*

The date of the split. The split is calculated based on the amount of security in the portfolio on the split date. This date will become the transaction date of the transaction created.

Split ratio

The ratio of the split (for example 1:2). The ratio defined tells the ratio between the amount of securities before and after the split (thus, with ratio 1:2, one security before the split would become two securities after the split, and the amount of the securities would double).

Transaction type*

The transaction type for the transactions to be created (if recording splits, select "Split" or similar).

A new corporate action is created with the OK button below the corporate action information. Remember to run the corporate action to your portfolio(s) in order to create appropriate transactions to your portfolios.
